STOP THE BLEED® Training is a Nationally Recognized, standardized course created and sponsored
through STOPTHEBLEED.ORG. This interactive and engaging 90 minute course stresses the
importance of understanding why bleeding is the #1 preventable death after an injury, how to save a
life through identifying life-threatening bleeding, recognizing different types of injuries, and learning
how to control bleeding when someone is injured through the application of wound packing and
tourniquet application. Hands-on exercises are a required component of this course and designed for
every member of the community
The fundamental principles of situational awareness—observation, orientation, decision-making,
and action—are skills we can apply daily, whether walking into a crowded event, attending
services, or running errands. These habits help us stay vigilant and prepared while maintaining
peace of mind.
As we continue to work towards enhanced situational awareness, we invite the community to
attend one of our next community-wide SCN CATT (Countering the Active Threat) training
sessions at the Jewish Federation of Greater Naples on Wednesday, February 26, 2025. SCN
will offer two training sessions at 9:30 AM and 4:00 PM, open to all Federation
members. Please register for this free program at .www.jewishnaples.org.
Since launching our security initiative in Greater Naples, SCN has trained over 150 community
members and assessed three facilities for vulnerabilities, threats, and risks. The Jewish
Federation of Greater Naples and SCN are on a mission to continue building a safer, more secure
future for everyone.
